Welcome to the KnifeCenter (“KnifeCenter,” “we,” “us” or “our”)! We gather certain types of information about the visitors to our websites, and we believe our visitors should fully understand how we obtain and use that information. This Privacy Statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it. Any comments or questions about this Privacy Statement or our privacy policies should be directed to us through our Contact Us form. By using our websites or services (collectively, the “Services”), you acknowledge you have read and understood the terms and conditions of this Privacy Statement and that you agree to them. If you do not agree with the privacy practices described in this Privacy Statement, you may not use the Services.
Please note that some jurisdictions provide their residents additional rights regarding the use of information related to the resident or that can be used to identify the resident (“Personal Information” or “PI”). 2. Protection of Your Personal Information; Retention
As we all know, the internet can be a dangerous place for everyone’s PI. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect PI from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, considering the risks involved and the nature of the PI. Our systems are protected by a firewall to help ensure that all information is secure.
We retain PI only for as long as needed to achieve the purpose for which it was collected or as otherwise disclosed by this Privacy Statement including, for example, for legal compliance, dispute resolution, contract enforcement, backup, archival, and other internal operations purposes.
3. Collection of PI
Directly from You
You may be required to submit certain PI to us in order for us to provide you the Services, products and information you request from us — and some PI is required in order to sign up for a KnifeCenter account.
If you choose to provide it, we will collect the following categories of PI directly from you:
- Identifiers, such as your name, address, email address, and IP address.
- Customer records information, such as your name, address, telephone number, and payment information.
- Commercial information, such as products or services purchased, obtained or considered, loyalty program participation information, and other purchasing or consuming histories.
- Communications, if you contact us.
- Our third party payment processors collect financial information (such as payment card and bank account information) to process payments for our products and services.
Collected Automatically by Us
We collect the following PI automatically when you use our Services:
- Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as your operating system, browser ID, and information regarding your interaction with our website.
- Information collected using the Cookies and Tracking Technologies described below.
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies such as pixels and web beacons, to collect and use PI about you and to gather information about your activities when using our Services in order to improve the KnifeCenter website navigability and offer the best possible shopping experience. We may engage our third party partners to deploy the cookies and similar tracking technologies we use; however, we do not allow them to use the information collected for their own commercial purposes. We may collect this information as a part of log files as well as through the use of cookies or other tracking technologies. Specifically, the information we collect automatically may include your IP address, your operating system, your browser ID, your browsing activity, your email interconnectivity, your location data, other information about your system and connection and how you interact with our Services. You can choose to allow our websites to collect and use real-time information about your location through the device’s privacy settings.

If your browser is not set to accept “cookies”, then you may not be able to use our shopping cart feature.
Collected from Public Information or Third-Parties
We may collect PI from publicly available sources or from third-parties.
- Social media platforms and widgets. We maintain a presence on multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Any information, communications, or materials you submit to us via a social media platform is done at your own risk without any expectation of privacy. We cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the actions of the platforms themselves. Your interactions with those features and platforms are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.
- Aggregate data providers. We utilize third party aggregate data providers that collect publicly available information. This information is used to validate identity, addresses, and other information used in our business processes.
4. Third Party Websites
Our website may contain links to other websites, including those of other companies, organizations, and publications. These websites operate independently from our website, and we do not control and are not responsible for the content, security, or data privacy practices used by other entities. You should review the privacy policies of those websites to determine how they protect and use your personal information.
5. Use of PI
We use the PI we collect for the following purposes:
- To assist with verifying your identity, in an effort to prevent fraud and identity theft.
- To compile aggregated statistics about website usage and to store and better understand the preferences of our visitors.
- To identify any server problems or other IT or network issues.
- To inform you of new products and services according to your preferences or restrictions.
- To manage our loyalty program.
- To manage our websites and system administration and security.
- To monitor your interactions with our marketing, services, systems, websites, and tools.
- To perform research and development to improve our products and services.
- To provide you with information regarding your account, notifications, and invoices.
- To process transactions and to set up online accounts.
- To process payment information through our third party payment processor.
- To provide, operate, customize content, and maintain our websites and services.

Contests and sweepstakes. We may, from time to time, offer surveys, contests, sweepstakes, or other promotions on our websites or through social media (collectively, “Promotions”). Participation in our Promotions is completely voluntary. Information requested for entry may include PI. A Promotion may be held under a privacy policy or terms and conditions that are in addition to or separate from this Privacy Statement. If the terms of the Promotion’s privacy policy or terms of use conflicts with this Privacy Statement, those additional or separate provisions will prevail. We use the information you provide to administer our Promotions. We may also, unless prohibited by the Promotion’s rules or law, use the information provided to communicate with you, or other people you select, about our products and services. We may share this information with our other organizations or service providers in line with this Privacy Statement and the rules posted for our Promotions.
Loyalty/Rewards Programs. To participate in the knifeREWARDS loyalty program, you are required to share your email address and name. In addition, purchases from your account are also associated with your email address and name. Participation in the program is completely voluntary. We use this information to administer the program and retain information associated with your account as long as you maintain a knifeREWARDS account. For example, we use your email address to track your purchasers in order to award you “Points”. We may also use this information to communicate with you about our products and services. Additionally, we may share this information with our service providers in line with this Privacy Statement and knifeRewards terms and conditions.
Purchase History. As part of our Services, we retain your purchase history (name and/or email address associated with the product(s) purchased) to enable you to identify any products you have purchased from us. We retain this information until you ask for it to be deleted and maintain this information in accordance with this Privacy Statement. You may access your purchase history by logging into your account and clicking “My Orders”.
6. Sharing and Disclosure of PI
We do not sell or share your PI with any third parties. However, we may disclose your PI to the following parties and for the following reasons:
- To third party service providers who help us maintain our Services, send newsletters or other content or promotional items, and provide other administrative services to us.
- We may disclose your personal information to law enforcement, government agencies, and other related third parties, in order to comply with the law, enforce our policies, or protect our or others’ rights, property or safety.
7. Protecting children’s privacy
We are committed to protecting children’s privacy on the internet and we do not knowingly collect PI from children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, do not use our websites or provide any PI to us. If we learn we have collected or received PI from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information in accordance with applicable law. If you believe we may have any information about a child under 18, please contact us using the “Contact Us” page.
8. Electronic Newsletters
Knifecenter.com offers free electronic newsletters that are dispatched by an email service provider (ESP). We collect email addresses of individuals who voluntarily subscribe, create accounts, participate in promotions, and purchase products on our websites. Individuals may subscribe, update their profile, or unsubscribe from one or more of our mailing lists at any time online, by clicking the link in the footer of our promotional emails.
In certain locations on our websites in which we obtain PI from you, we may include “check boxes” for the purpose of soliciting your consent to receive special offers and other information from Knifecenter.com. If you consent by checking the check box, you may receive promotional information from us by email, U.S. mail or other means. You will have the opportunity at any time to “opt-out” of receiving future commercial emails from Knifecenter.com by either (1) following the instructions located at the bottom of each email we send you, or (2) contacting us using the “Contact Us” page.
9. International Data Transfers
We are based in the U.S. If you choose to provide us with information, please understand that your PI may be transferred to the U.S. and that we may transfer that information to other third party service providers, across borders, and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. If you are visiting from the EU or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that you are transferring your PI to the U.S. and other jurisdictions which may not have the same data protection laws as the EU. We put in place reasonable operational, procedural and technical measures in order to ensure the protection of your PI. You acknowledge you understand that by providing your PI: (i) your PI will be used for the uses identified in this Privacy Statement; and (ii) your PI may be transferred to the U.S. and other jurisdictions as indicated above, in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes to this Privacy Statement
KnifeCenter reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement at any time. When we do, we will also revise the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes to the Privacy Statement, we will notify you more directly, such as by placing a prominent notice on our website or via email at the email address we have on file for you. Please check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of this website following the posting of changes to these terms will mean you accept those changes.
11. US Residents
If you reside in the U.S., certain states provide their residents additional rights related to their PI. Accordingly, depending on your state of residence, you may have one or more of the rights below:
- Right to Know – You may have the right to request that we disclose certain information about our collection and use of your PI, such as the categories and specific pieces of PI we have collected about you, as well as the categories of sources from which such PI is collected, the purpose for collecting such PI, the categories of third parties with whom we share such PI, and information about our sale, sharing, or disclosure of your PI to third parties, if applicable.
- Right to Delete – You may have the right to request that we delete any of the PI that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. Once we receive and confirm your verifiable consumer request, we will delete (and direct our service providers to delete) your PI from our records, unless an exception applies.
- Right to Correct – You may have the right to request that we correct your personal information, such as when the information is inaccurate, incomplete, or no longer up to date.
- Right to Non-Discrimination – You may have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
- Right to Portability – You may have the right to receive your personal information in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily useable format that allows you to transmit the personal information to another entity without hindrance.
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing – You may have the right to direct us not to “sell” or “share” your PI. However, we do not “sell” or “share” your PI with any third parties.
Notice of Financial Incentives. We may provide price discounts, coupons, services and other perks for members of our knifeREWARDS loyalty program. To participate in the program, you are required to create a KnifeCenter.com account where you must provide your name and email address. You may opt-out of the program at any time by contacting us using the “Contact Us” page. We offer this program to enhance our relationship with you so you can enjoy more of our products/services at a lower price. The value of your data is the value of the offer(s) presented to you. We have calculated the value of the incentive by using the expense related to the offer.
Shine the Light. Where applicable, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users of the websites that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of PI to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request please contact us using the information provided in the “Further Information” section below.
12. Nevada Residents
Nevada law gives Nevada consumers the right to request that a company not sell their PI for monetary consideration to certain other parties.? This right applies even if their PI is not currently being sold.? If you are a Nevada consumer and wish to exercise this right, please send an email with the subject line “Nevada Resident Do Not Sell Request” to support@knifecenter.com.
13. EU/UK Residents
We process PI using the following legal bases:
- Where use of your information is necessary to perform our obligations under a contract with you (for example, to comply with the terms and conditions of our websites which you accept by browsing the websites/registering, and/or our contract to provide our Services to you);
- Where use of your information is necessary for our legitimate interests (for example, to provide security for our Services; operate our business and our Services; to make and receive payments; to comply with legal requirements and defend our legal rights; and to prevent fraud);
- Where we have your consent, in accordance with applicable legal requirements, to use your information for a particular purpose (which consent you may withdraw at any time by contacting us); or
- Where we use your information to comply with applicable legal obligations (for example, keeping track of purchases for tax and auditing purposes).
If you are a data subject in the EU or the UK, you have the following rights:
- The right to be informed about our collection and use of PI;
- The right of access to the PI we hold about you;
- The right to rectification if any PI we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete;
- The right to be forgotten – i.e., the right to ask us to delete any PI we hold about you;
- The right to restrict (i.e., prevent) the processing of your PI;
- The right to data portability (obtaining a copy of your PI to re-use with another service or organization);
- The right to object to us using your PI for particular purposes; and
- Rights with respect to automated decision making and profiling.
If you have any cause for complaint about our use of your PI, please contact us using the contact information provided below, and we will do our best to solve the problem for you. If we are unable to help, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country.
14. Exercising your Privacy Rights
If you would like to exercise one or more of the rights provided to you by your jurisdiction, please contact us by phone or using the contact information below. We may need you to provide additional information to verify your request, such as providing certain data elements so that we can confirm they match the PI already maintained by us. We will not use this additional information for anything other than handling your request. We will endeavor to respond to all requests in accordance with applicable law, although there may be a brief delay in processing a request while we verify that the request is valid and originates from you as opposed to an unauthorized third party. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
Your place of residence may allow you to designate an authorized agent to make a request in certain circumstances on your behalf. Prior to fulfilling a request by your authorized agent, we may request documentation signed by you that gives the authorized agent permission to take such actions on your behalf.
15. How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals
At this time, our website does not recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, which may include Do Not Track instructions.
