Hands free when you don't want a headlight
First off, this isn't the kind of holster from which you draw the light. You run it from a belt and leave it in the holster. To take out the light, you must loosen an adjustable velcro strap and there is a lot of friction to keep the light securely in the holster. The word "tactical" in this case does not mean quick-draw, but a hands free light in a situation where a headlight/headlamp is not desired or possible. The belt clip looks designed for thick gunbelts, it may slip off of a thin nylon backpack strap unless you do something about it. I keep this on my hydration pack waist strap. Headlamps look goofy. :)
