Description

RPDPHSF015: HEST/F 3.0 Folding Knife - Bronze 3D Ti

DPx Gear

Introducing the DPx HEST/F 3.0 - the most refined HEST folder yet. It is made by LionSTEEL in Maniago, Italy, an award-winning company that puts up with the constant perfection designer Robert Young Pelton demands. What did they do to improve the already well-built knife? Well, they went with the excellent M390 blade steel - frequently used in high-end knives. For added strength without increasing weight, they added a 440 stainless lock bar insert. The ultimate in elegant strength, the DPx HEST/F 3.0 is one of the toughest EDC knives money can buy.

Titanium Bank Vault Honeymoon Review
Locks up TIGHT! Feels lighter than stated weight.Great ergos regarding grip/blade dimensions. The detent is pretty weak and the can-opener on the spine acts like an Emerson Wave so if you carry it in a tight pocket you have to reach down and block the tip area else the blade will deploy.I work as a receiver/stocker and my edc is used mostly on cardboard and strapping. I have been using a Benchmade Arcane, and while I like the edge properties of the S90V, the blade profile has a very shallow belly off the spearpoint. The tip profile on the HEST should push cut more aggressively much like my TOPS Baja 3.0. This is my first knife with M390 so curious to see how edge holds up.

Top quality knife
I just got the knife today, but it feels good in the hand. It has a non-agressive diamond texture that is an interesting texture that reminds me of a turtle shell, in that you can feel the bumps, and they help you hold it, but they still feel smooth. It has a very nice feel to it. Opening is smooth. Not quite as nice as some of my ball bearing knives, but it might be better once I use it more. The blade it nice and thick, with still having to poity enough tip for detailed work. Overall it is an interesting mix of a hard use knife, and one that I would be willing to carry with a suit.
